I have always been interested in the natural sciences. During my early years of college, I took a few environmental classes. Through these classes I learned about green living. I learned that the world’s resources are heavily affected by humans. I learned the importance of waste reduction through less use.
People and the environment are very closely related. I have learned that we as humans need to shift our thinking into really being aware of our impact that each of our choices have on our environment.
An example of this might be simply when we go to the grocery store such as the food choices we make. And how do these choices affect the people and environment around us. Choosing less processed foods. Knowing the differences between organic and non-organic food, I learned about genetically modified food (GMO). I learned about making decisions on food purchases based on farming methods and sustainability.
Learning about green living and having this mindset will help me provide my clients different ideas on whole healthy living.
